OUR MISSION: ADVANCING DIGITAL SAFETY FOR STUDENTS K-12
OUR STORY
Schools across the country struggle to find the balance of increasing technology needs and diminishing budgets. That was never more apparent than in the spring of 2020 when 70,000,000 students were sent home from the brick and mortor school model and asked to engage in distance learning due to COVID 19. Technology departments were stressed to the limit and in some cases not able to deliver. In many cases the solutions existed to help these schools be safer and more agile, but already strained budgets could not afford to redirect resources. It was eye opening to see Federal, State and local government spend Millions to ensure the safety of our student’s health. At the same time schools were not able to allocate the resources needed to increase cyber safety for their students. They did not have budget. Some schools had to make the choice to not be compliant simply due to lack of resources. Out of this need, Making IT Safer Foundation was born. Dedicated to helping establish a bridge for technology, education and government to increase cybersecurity in school K-12.
